About KimTech
Kim Magee
Kim founded KimTech with the purpose of providing opportunities to trial low-cost, high-tech communication devices and assistive technology. Her passion for assistive communication technology has developed over the past 30 years through her work as a speech pathologist and later as a manager of Assistive Technology (AT) services at Yooralla. Throughout her career, Kim has been dedicated to supporting people in accessing communication and assistive technology.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Computing, and an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management.
Over the past 19 years at Yooralla, Kim has led allied health teams and specialist AT services, including ComTEC and Independent Living Centre (ILC) information and advisory services, 'On the Move' Wizzybug powered mobility for children aged 1-4, the Electronic Communication Devices Scheme (ECDS), and equipment libraries.
Kim brings her extensive knowledge and IT skills to KimTech, along with her enthusiasm for designing and 3D printing keyguards for various AAC iPad apps and other accessories, making them available for hire and purchase. She is committed to providing access to trials of low-cost, high-tech devices.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her pugs, knitting, sewing, and 3D printing.
